Gondolin has a track record in supporting developers at the post planning stages of projects by securing Land Drainage Consents (LDC) from Local Authorities and Internal Drainage Boards in England and Wales. Under the requirements of the Land Drainage Act 1991, activities and works to and in proximity to Ordinary Watercourses require formal LDC permission from Local Authorities or Internal Drainage Boards. This includes the introduction of surface water discharges from development sites to watercourses, new culverts or bridges for access and construction activities within a specified distance to the watercourse.
As part of the application process our Team undertakes site surveys and provides supporting design drawings, calculations and a summary Construction Method Statement / details of specific Environmental Management measures. We liaise closely with the relevant approving body from the outset to agree the scope and particular requirements of any LDC application. Please refer to the relevant Case Studies for examples.
