Last week, the Gondolin team took part in a team volunteering day at the Community Woods and Garden, Polbeth & West Calder. The day gave us a chance to step away from our usual project work, and make a practical contribution to a fantastic community space.

It’s the second year we’ve had the pleasure of supporting this inspiring local initiative, which has transformed a once-derelict site into a thriving space for community wellbeing and education. From woodland trails and growing plots to a community workshop and outdoor classroom, the site continues to go from strength to strength thanks to the dedicated team behind it.
Gondolin had an incredibly rewarding day as we rebuilt a leaky wood store, cleared a large section of path, removed old signage and replaced it with a brand-new notice board, and set up some outdoor musical instruments in the woodland – including a sunflower and some mushrooms.
We are happy to support this community-led project that brings people together and creates long-lasting impact. A big thank you to the team at Community Woods and Garden for having us along again – we’re glad to have been able to lend a hand.
