Site Visits to Battery Energy Storage Sites in England

Recent work has taken our managing director, Zak Ritchie, and one of our technical directors, Richard Lucey, south. They first visited two Battery Energy Storage Sites (BESS) near Upminster to gather information that will help Gondolin provide the site Earthworks and Drainage Design, Flood Risk Assessment and Firewater Management Plan to support an upcoming planning application.

Empty land that will be developed into a battery energy storage site

Nearby was another BESS site which Zak Ritchie had previously provided a variety of engineering support during the planning stage. Now recently constructed, they had to have a flying visit to see how the site has come along.

During the same trip our dynamic Director duo were in Peterborough, where they surveyed a sand and gravel quarry to review their existing surface water and silt management arrangements. This visit will help inform the development of a holistic surface water & silt management system for the current and future phases of the quarry.
